When I was younger, I would always prefer to take the window seat. In a train or bus, I want to see the countryside roll by and to see the views as the vehicle sped by. When I get on a plane, it was also the window seat so that I could see the jet engine and the take-off. These days, I will take the aisle seat as I want easy access to the toilet as well as to walk about if need be. Also it is easier to get service from the cabin crew. what about you?

I like to get a window seat on a plane. Then I will be able to see the land at take off and landing time. Sometimes I get to see some amazing landscapes. I saw the white sails of the opera house and the gray harbor bridge in Sydney. I looked at the Egyptian pyramids before the plane on the way back from Kenya landed in Egypt. I saw the islands and the reef in the Maldives when I was on board a tiny plane. I hate to get an aisle seat because I feel closed in. By the window I feel fine. On a train and on a bus I prefer to get a window seat but it isn't essential. I like to see the scenery out the window. I still prefer the window seat myself. I like to watch the scenery and it entertains me more than the aisle seat would. I don't mind staying in my seat for a few hours. happy The only time I had a problem sitting still was my 12 hour flight to Europe - I was too excited and the seats weren't comfortable...and I was in an aisle seat! blink I will definitely stick to the window seat. happy [HansonFan]

When i am on traveling, i will always prefer to seat at the window seat, since i like to admire the beauty of the nature. I never like to seat at the aisle seat because i feel bored easily if i don't view the nature beauty. In short, by viewing the nature beauty of the world, i can feel relax and tension free and even won't feel sleepy as well. Well, although i do feel the trouble when wanted to get the cabin crew service during traveling by plane, but i still feel more enjoy to seat at the window seat than seating at other place. I alway like the window seat. I make sure I take care of the Bathroom before I get on the plane so I don't have a need to get up at all. I feel the isle seat you would always be in the way with the cart going by and the flight attendants. I rather be in the window seat its more relaxing I think. [lelin1123]

On a train or a bus, it will always be the window seat, so I can sit and observe the world as we pass (even on the short journey that I make from home to the city which I make every day). On a plane journey, it will depend. If it is a short journey, I prefer an aisle seat, as it means that I can get off more quickly when we reach our destination. If on the other hand it is a long inter-continental journey, I try to get a window seat. For some reason that I cannot explain, I always find it easier to sleep when in a window seat. [astonysh]

You are right it is easier to get service on the aisle seat and to go to the bathroom but I can always ask the person sitting their to let me up. Usually it is either someone from my family or a friend so I do not think they will care. Always the window seat, on any form of transport! I like to look out of the window and watch the world go by; also, I get irritated when I'm sitting in the aisle seat, because careless people knock into you as they walk past. And I quite like inconveniencing people - getting them to stand up and move, if I need the loo - unless, of course, they are my partner! (Then she steals the window seat.) I prefer the window seat on planes. If I fly during the day, I like to see the landscape, especially as flights here normally go over all the mountains in the middle of Norway. Also, if I'm tired, it is much easier to sleep by the window and I love sleeping in planes. In trains I try to get a window seat for the same reasons, but in busses my main goal is to be in the front. I get travel sickness very easily, so I hate being a passenger in both buses and cars. Well I've never rode on a plain or a train but in the car I've always preferred the seat by the window. I love to watch the scenery go by. It also has helped me from getting lost when we travel. Hi, I never board a plane. but I still prefer window seat in bus, train as it gives support on one side. instead of sticking to the seat if we sit in aisel seat. in younger age i used to sit to watch from window. but now i choose to get some support on one side [vedhak]

Sometimes window seats are not really favoured especially when the sun should shine of that side of the vehicle. Or when it is stuck and cannot be pulled up when rain comes on. Otherwise a window seat is a great seat for scenery viewing [jonjee0203]

Bus or train journey it is always window seat for me. But by plane for short journeys I do prefer a window seat and for a long journey an aisle seat is better for the very reasons that you have mentioned. [allknowing]
I am not aisle person myself either. But unless I don't have a choice then I would prefer to sit by the window. I like to look out at the landscape and stuff going on outside too. It makes travelling so much more fun and I can take pictures along the way if I like it. [nijolechu]

It is amazing to me that the number of people preferring the window seat seems like about 19 to 1. Maybe it is because I am 78, but I prefer the aisle seat for all the reasons already mentioned in this article by people that prefer the aisle seats. I usually fly 2 times a year to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I always though the aisle seats were premium seats and considered myself lucky when I ask for them and get them. In train I like to sit in the window seat from where one can watch outside, and disturbances will be less. In bus I like to be seated in aisle because I can stretch my leg and can make our selves comfortable and there will be no walking by the co-passenger when the bus moves. I always request for a window seat for plane trips. i enjoy watching the clouds and imagining myself touching it. enjoying the feel of it like cotton candy. to avoid dizziness too- i preferred the window seat for boats and even for buses. I have always liked seating in the window when I travel by plane and I still like it, even if it's annoying when I have to go to the bathroom. I like looking at the sky when we're in the middle of the flight, and also the landing, all of those little houses and such. [madteaparty]
I prefer window seats as well because I like viewing beautiful sceneries in the countryside and also tall buildings in large cities. It would be the same for aeroplanes, whereby the window seat would give me the opportunity to experience the take-off and landing of the plane which really excites me and makes me feel recharged and alive. I use to always like sitting by the window so I could see everything. I always hated the taking off part it made my stomach do flips lol. Some pilots are very good at taking off and some make it tense. Now I like sitting by the aisle and my kids take the window seat. [strawberrybaby39]

I guess you are right. Most kids loved the window seats. However the worse seat is the seat between two passengers especially in a plane in the Economy Class. You ought to suffer through out the whole flight if the guy at the window keeps going out of his seat and gives you no peace of mind. [jonjee0203]
Hello as a child i used to sit near the window in trains and buses, it has several advantages, one can enjoy the scenary from there, make purchases from vendors in the railway platform or bus stop.. but it has disadvantages too, the dirts enter spoil your cloth though you enjoy the cool breeze... some times there are anti socials, who can snanch gold chains, ear ornaments or the hand bag...
