Marianske Lazne – is a small spa resort buried in verdure. It is located in western part of Czech Republic and is famous due to its mineral springs, which successfully heal the illnesses of kidneys, endocrine system, urinary bladder, metabolism, motor nerves. Nowadays here are opened more than 130 mineral springs, more then 40 of them are medicinal. All of them vary in their chemical composition, but contain much carbonic acid.
Marianske Lazne is a young city. Its history began at the beginning of 19th century, when monks of Tepla Monastery examined medicinal qualities of water decided to organize their own spa settlement, similar to the world known Karlovy Vary. At the end of 19th century, in 1866 Marianske Lazne received the status of the city and city administration started to build houses, hotels, pensions and sanatoriums to attract holiday-makers. Graceful tracery colonnade, built in 19th century and the Singing Fountain, beautifully illuminated at night are the most enchanting building in spa area.
