I was really keen on traveling by age 18 years old. I wanted so very much to get enough money to travel around Europe. I wondered how I would afford it because I was a student. When my studies ended I got a job as a children's nanny in Finland. I liked working for the family. They had three houses, a town house, a farm house in the country and a lakeside cottage. After that I went around Europe by train on my own. Then I got a job in London at a shipping company. At age 19 I got left some money in my Great Aunts will. It was enough for me to buy a small cottage. I went traveling to Tunisia and St Lucia. I did a trip to other places in Europe by train in the winter of 1992. I was sadly made redundant from my job so I let out my cottage and off I went on my trip around the world in 1993. I got married and had my son after that. Six years later I got divorced. In 1996 I went to Malta, the Czech Republic and Poland. I traveled to Kenya in 1997. In 1997 I visited Israel and Jordan. I explored Germany and Austria in 1999.

Hi friend, In the 1990's I had a chance to travel to the summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio City. It was a city in the mountains located in the Northern part of the country. It was called the summer capital because the weather there is unusually colder than the other parts of the country. It used to be the home of the indigenous tribes before the Americicans arrived there. After that, the later developed it into a well planned city, with huge parks, camps and other attractions. I was amazed with the place when I first got there. It was really cold, there were lots of pine trees and flowering plants. Truly, a summer capital. [WATARIKENJI]
Hi Maxima, In 1990, I got the chance to travel to at least 9 countries in Europe; about 10 states in the US and Indonesia in 1991; India, Nepal 1992 and 1993; Jamaica, 1998; Bolivia 1997; Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines 1999. Although I love to travel, I am getting tired of it probably because I am getting old. My husband says though that we will continue to travel until we could not physically do it anymore. [involved62]
No I can't really say that I would have traveled a lot. At last not on my own. I might do a road trip or whatever you call that after I'm done with the university... I obviously will have to get a job in the first place so that I can save some money for that but I certainly would love to do that. I actually would love to see the whole world. You know, traveling around seeing all the great places. I will try to do that someday but I'm not sure how long it will take to realize that dream.. :/ I obviously will need to plan ahead of the time. The simplest thing would probably be a bicycle but I'm not sure how I would be able to keep up with the food and water in that situation... Oh, I'm very envious of you.I was just 7 years old in 1990 and my family was pool,so I had to do much farm work and housework,I was primary scholar.When I was in university,I travelled to cities in East China(Suzhou,Yangzhou,Hangzhou and so on)near Nanjing that our school was in.When I finished school,I got a job in my hometown Guangzhou,in South China.And I travelled to Beijing,Shanghai,Hainan(A beautiful and wonderful island),Hunan,Jiangxi,Hongkong,Macao,and other province and city.But I had not travelled to other country.Even though I want to travel to Europe, South Africa,Australia and Maldives.Even my sister and my uncle is live in USA. I did barely ANY traveling in the 1990's. Well, I was born in 1990 and between then and 2000 I pretty much went on little trips with my family - to surrounding states like Wisconsin and South Dakota. Nothing major. Unfortunately I haven't been out of the country or been to anywhere exciting..Ever in my life. sad. [maezee]

Hi maximax! In the 1990's I did the same as I did in the 80's and in the 2000's (or whatever that century is called :-) ), I went to Austria about every year :-) I made two riding trips there, one in 1994 and one in 1996. In 1997 my class went on an excursion to France, afterwards a friend and I went interrailing in Spain and the UK. Then I went a year to Austria for a year as an exchange student, so in 2008 I went interrailing with another friend. We went to Italy, Prague and Budapest. For New Years Eve 1998/99 I went to Edinburgh for 10 days, it was very funny but the weather was horrible. [Torunn]
well, that's the peak of my wunderlust. one of the most exciting plans was, however, put off. i was planning to take the trans-siberian express from vladivostok to paris but had to cancel it for an emergency. it was during the 90s though where i traveled to almost every corner of my country, the philippines. hi maximax... i find you have a good travelling knack... me too... i wish to visit the whole world... hopefully, someday i'll have enough money to fulfill my dream... yeah, i had a bit of travelling in the 90s... i was into job by the beginning of the 90s... in 1996 i went to kuwait for two years... i earned a bit there... i visited most of western europe and saudi arabia in 1996... my europe tour started from greece... went to italy by ship (brindisi from patras in greece)... then to rome, geneva and paris all by train... from paris to london also by train (eurostar) through euro-tunnel... from london to brussels also by eurostar... then onwards to amsterdam, Luxembourg, bonn/coln, berlin, munich and zurich... i still had days left in my eurail pass... so, from zurich i travelled to bercelona... from barcelona i went back to rome... eurail pass was over... my sister-in-law was in rome then... had few days stay at rome... from there i visited pisa, vesuvius/pompei and venice... it was time to return... following the same route, ie, brindisi (train) - patras (ship)- athens (train) and from athens fly back to kuwait... from patras, i visited Olympia (by bus)... in 1997, i visited saudi arabia once again... i also visited egypt in 1997... it was another exciting trip i had in egypt... in 1998, before repatriation i planned to visit usa and collected visa accordingly... later, left the plan as i thought i wouldn't be left with any money to take along if i visited there... hope to visit someday... this was all about my travels in the 90s... Yes, I did. It wasn't out of country, though. It was just out of state. My grandpa had to go to Louisiana a lot for work and my great-grandpa (on my biological fathers' mothers side) was a Sheriff in Arkansas so I traveled to Arkansas a lot. I know that I went to Las Vegas really really young as well, but I barely remember it. Just make sure you have one of the reliable mobile phones so you can stay in contact! [cherishxbunny]

In 1990 I went to London and my trip was a present from my parents. I love travelling so that was the best present they could give me Blush In 1990 I also went to France with some friends, we drove around for some weeks visiting the southern part of France, listen to some musical flutes while we drove around. In 1992 I went to Paris for the first time, and I aso went to London again (with my school). In 1995 I went to Germany with my parents, my brother and my grandmother, the trip was a present to my grandmother, because she also loves travelling. In 1998 I went to Paris with a friend and in 1999 I went to Prague, to Poland and to Estonia. [Porcospino]
I went on a package Holiday to Europe. Our first stop was London where we had to wait to check in till evening as per hotel rules and so that whole day we spent in the lounge but went out on our own and did a good amount of sight seeing including Madam Tussaudde's etc. We then went by the Eurorail to Brussels spent the whole night outdoors including chocolate shopping. We also found good deals on gift card prices. The other places that we covered were Amsterdam, Holland, France,Switzerland, Italy. Of all these places I liked Switzerland specially our experience at Jung frau where we walked through the Ice Palace. The journey to go there was breath taking. I could go on and on describing the various experiences in different countries but that would mean I would be writing a travelogue here!! [allknowing]
I really didnt do any travelling in the 90s i mostly stayed within the state lines. But i really wanted to go to France at the time. In 2000 i went on a canival cruise to Catalina Island and to Mexico. it was fun, i had a good time [ErickJ]
I have'nt travelled outside my country but i almost reach every corner of my country. it begin when i aged 21. looking for stable job is the main reason why i went to that places. Now, i finally got a very high paying and stable job. i think this is the way i can travel outside my country... Europe is just a big continent which you can only travel by land and reach different countries. so much different here in my country that you will need to ride an airplane or a ship to reach the other province or state. Hi...maximax It is envious to read your list of places you were travelled in the 90s. I did may travels in the 90s but most of them was domestic travels. Not much international trips. Travelleing is a good experience and in the 1990s I travelled most of the Indian cities. Most of my travels, even nowadys, is for business in nature. [mdvarghese]

hi! yeah! i did experience traveling in the 1990's. I think i wasn't even in primary school at that time. Me and my family went to Cebu to visit our relatives there. Cebu City is in the Philippines. It's a very nice place to visit because Cebu has very nice tourist spots such as white sand beaches. It also has century-old churches which were built when the Philippines was under the Spanish colonization. I wish i could have enough money so that i would be able to travel around the world someday. =) [brymel25]

well, maxima, that was the decade when i traveled the most and would have gone to more places. the decade started with a travel around the philippines, on assignment. it was followed by a training in malaysia. then, i have to go to taiwan, for another assignment. then, i was invited to laos by a friend. after that, in the spring of 94, i went to south korea. from south korea, i was scheduled to visit canada, the united states, then to europe and the middle east, all for a project i was working on. however, i have to forego my travels and shelve the project because my youngest daughter got very sick and i, as a father, have to be by her side. i don't know what will have happened to my daughter, if i continued my travels and finished the project. she's now on her third year in college... Yes I did a lot of traveling when I was a student in the late 1990s. I went mainly to Europe. There was Madrid and Barcelona in spain, toledo and lisbon in portugal, geneva, luzern in switzerland and skiing in berg in switzerland. Then there was the usual paris in France, and a trip to visit friends in Erkelenz in Germany, and other friends in schweinfurt in germany, and we went to nuremberg where the famous trials were held (there was a nice children's museum there but I remember that my friend and I were surprised that they had Dolls in nazi uniform - obviously they have learnt from their past and can move on). There were also trips around England, the Norfolk Broads, the Peak district, Land's End and Brighton. Also Cambridge and Oxford, and up to Wales at one point to visit my friend's old school. Most of these trips were backpacking trips - when you're young, you really don't care if there's no warm water in the middle of winter! We picked up hammocks and accessories so we could sleep outside. [squaretile]
