Do You Sleep Well In Hotel Beds

i do! i am a chronic insomniac but if i am on a trip i usually get so tired of being in the car that ANYTHING feels great and i usually sleep like a baby in hotel rooms.. i always heard of people complaining in the past about the quality of the beds but i never have a problem.. how well do you sleep on them? do you think is the traveling that helps you sleep well on them since your so tired or do you think that hotels are slowly putting more money into getting better beds so that that is a thing of the past?

sleeppurpose of my vacation is sleeping in hotel and enjoy than after [vshah1234]
I'd love the opportunity to not sleep in Las Vegas lol lol [MsTickle]

Till date I have not had a problem sleeping in hotel rooms. Ofcourse since the room is different for a few hours I sometimes take time adjusting but then after that I am dead once I hit the pillow. I have not had a problem with the quality of beds but sometimes have had problem with light creeping into the room from the window. [mayka123]
yeah true! the light thing drives me nuts!! once i get used to the lighting and sounds though im out like a light [moonlitmagikchild]

Some times i could n't sleep well when I chang a place. [wodekonghuapen]
sometimes being in a different place takes some getting used to.. which is why im thinking maybe im so tired i dont care lol [moonlitmagikchild]

most of the time i don't have any problem sleeping in hotel beds especially if it's a nice hotel with beds more comfortable than my own :) but i have also slept in cheap motels with bad beds with not too many problems. i think you're right traveling makes me tired and i sleep well when i'm tired. one time though, i stayed in a nice hotel for a conference and i couldn't sleep the first night. not sure why. [aidenw]
i think the only time it was hard for me to sleep in a hotel was when there was shooting going on in the parking lot and lucky me had a room facing it lol [moonlitmagikchild]

well, so far... i don't sleep in expensive hotel rooms. we stay in an INN or apartelle. and beds are not good... i wish i can sleep in hotel beds, soft bed and spacious one. [donnakristel]
i usually stay at cheap hotels also.. maybe i have just been lucky.. i usually always go with chains though [moonlitmagikchild]

If I'm on a vacation, and there are lots of walking and activities that tire me out, then I will sleep like a log. But if it's a business trip, I just can't get to sleep well. However if the business trip is more than 2 days, I will definitely sleep on the third day or so - too exhausted by then. lol [lazeebee]
i dont travel much so maybe its because its new to me.. if i had been using hotels a lot i would prob get my Insomnia back like at home since it would become routine lol [moonlitmagikchild]

I dont think a normal hotel does so much for us....i usually go inspect the room before i paylol and only two or three times, i said no before i walked in, i hope because of the travelling, i tend to sleep well in hotel beds rather than the bed at home lol where i dont sleep once i lie on the bed, it takes more than an hour to go to sleep [sharay]
ive never thought to inspect a room before getting one [moonlitmagikchild]

when we were in cebu Mactan we have our favoirtes hotel and room because the ebd is comfortable hard.when we tried the other room we did not have a nice sleep because its too soft.so when ever we are there we reserved that room then yes we sleep wellhappy [bombshell]
we always booked earlier so that we can get the favorites room number and they knew it since we are more than 9 yrs of their costumerwink [bombshell]

I also sleep well on hotel beds. Almost all of the hotels and Resorts I've been have very comfortable beds and it's such an effort to get up in the morning. I could sleep the whole day lol [bubbletush]
usually i am so excited i get up early the next day unless its the last day then i drag myself out of bed at the last minute lol [moonlitmagikchild]

no i cant sleep well in hottel bed . i only sleep well in my room only. [mictin]

I personally do not sleep very well in hotels, but I don't think it has much to do with the quality of the beds. I usually stay in hotels with nice beds and have slept in a wide variety. However, I am someone who sleeps best at home in my own bed. It is very difficult for me to fall asleep anywhere else. I agree that hotels are starting to put more money into getting better beds, but I don't think that I will ever sleep really well in a hotel. [michmich2]
some people just have one place they truly sleep well at.. thank goodness im not like that but i dont have to stay at other places often [moonlitmagikchild]

Earlier I found it quite uncomfortable to sleep in the hotel rooms. I was sort of occupied that those could be carrying germs and all. Bur now I am ok. Though in most cases you do not have a quick nap but you slowly get used to it and sleep your way. [krajibg]
But most of the good hotels maintain hygiene. Just think a couple of days back or just before you took over the bed there was a TB patient loving for several days and you know how active and dangerous are the TB germs. lol [krajibg]

i think its the journey which makes one feel tired.and i also like you fall immediately to sleep on hotel beds and also the hotels are investing on better beds as they need good buisiness. [riyasam]
yeah they got a bad rep that has stayed with them a long time when they were cheap and didnt invest there money into them [moonlitmagikchild]

I like sleeping in hotels. I like the decor and well made bed. It is so comforting to sleep in a new environment especially when it is in a 5 star hotel. Usually during long holidays we purposely spend the weekends sleeping in hotels just for a change. [alegnaluvu]
yeah makes you feel pampered [moonlitmagikchild]

i don't have any problems in sleeping in hotel rooms..i don't care for the beds and all if i get a some what comfortable place its enough for me to sleep.. [gangulydada7]

there can never be my bed anywhere. i cant enjoy my sleep on a hotel bed, no matter how comfortable it is. i always find my bed more pleasant and best when it comes to sleeping.. [billgatexp]
i think i will be that way now that i got a sleep number bed.. but before that i could but this one is so nice i may have problems in the future [moonlitmagikchild]

I think hotel beds have improved in recent decades. I can remember some pretty bad ones from when I was a kid, and since kids usually can sleep anywhere, they must have been really bad. Now the beds themselves feel fine. The thing that bothers me about staying in hotels is the media coverage of how grungy things like bedspreads and blankets are in hotels. After hearing all that, I can barely stand to touch them to shove them on the floor. I refuse to use them which means that I get cold in hotel beds which wakes me up. That was a case where not knowing would have been easier on me than by "right to know". [sbeauty]
yeah i pull off the bedspreads since i used to work at a hotel and we only washed them 1 time a year yuck! [moonlitmagikchild]

I really feel uncomfortable when I sleep in hotel beds....I think it must be because of change in environment which is totally different to our sweet home bed...I always miss my bed in hotels [sandvi2002]
now that i got a new bed i may end up the same way [moonlitmagikchild]

It depended how my mood was the day I slept in hotel. Also, I found that I can sleep well in the company of my hubby or friends, if they weren't with me, I might not sleep well. I think the pillows and beds in hotel, most of all are in high quality, so it doesn't affect my sleeping , it is only my mood that matters. ^.^ [HelloMickey]
yeah i can see that being a big factor [moonlitmagikchild]

Okay its not the beds i have issues with...its being in a strange place that causes me to not sleep well. First few times i slept at your place i didnt sleep well. Now i sleep better there than just about any where else. [pheonixstar1982]
yeah i noticed lol.. but thats cool that you sleep so well here.. especially when i know you have been having problems sleeping [moonlitmagikchild]

I have always found hotel or motel beds to be very comfortable. They have high quality sheets, the blankets are soft, the Mattresses are very comfortable, and the pillows are great. [MaryLynn321]
Yes they definitely are. And you don't have to punch them to make them fluffy, lol. Next time ask them if you could buy a couple of pillows, or if they know where you can purchase some like them. [MaryLynn321]

I like hotel bed a lot, it is king size, wide and soft, I like it very much but I only get to sleep on the hotel bed in vacation or traveling :-p ( I think most people do) I think hotel beds are always comfortable. They need good bed for the customers at least. [mermaidivy]
i know its so nice to be in a huge bed! i have a queen size at home and would love to have a king but no room for it [moonlitmagikchild]

Like you most of the time I am exhausted...however...I went to the cities for my neices wedding reception and got a room for my son and his wife and little one....well the only one they had left was a king with bunks....so I am thinking that the bunks are like a roll away bed....nope..actual bunk beds....I did not sleep well. It was like sleeping in a coffin. [jillhill]
ive never heard of a hotel with bunk beds!! thats crazy [moonlitmagikchild]

I am usually particular about where I sleep. Usually, when I am staying in a hotel, I will bring my own linen with me. That makes me feel more comfortable as opposed to sleeping on linen that had been used by strangers. Usually the beds are king sized, which is much larger than my own bed, and I must say I do tend to sleep well. Usually the first night is rather strange, since there are different surroundings and sounds, but after that I am good to go. [sudalunts]
yeah some times its hard if its noisy or your facing the parking lot but i have gotten better at being able to adjust quicker or something.. i would be afraid i woul forget my sheets and i dont think i would wanna see the beds stripped down lol.. im sure some of them are the greatest to look at [moonlitmagikchild]

Horrible things hotel beds, apart from not being comfertable, you don't know who else has slept in it. [sambarwell]

Hello...I spend a lot of time travelling and sleeping in hotels...I find if its a good hotel, with a good bed..and also for some strange reason, if I get a kingsize one, then yes, I can shut the curtains so it stays dark and sleep very well. I find some cheaper motels though, the beds are like sleeping on springs...Its well worth it to spend extra for a comfie bed!..Afterall, that is half of your stay or more is spent sleeping! [sandymay48]
very true.. i have only had a couple of times where the beds were worn out.. i think those times the tiredness helped me sleep more than anything lol [moonlitmagikchild]

Depends on who I'm with!tdemex! [tdemex]
lol i bet that makes a huge difference [moonlitmagikchild]

Usually, I try not to think too much in a hotel bed. How many people have slept in that bed? Was that a pubic hair I saw on the sheets? What is that stain? Should I remove the coverlet because it never gets washed? I have heard lots of disgusting things about hotel beds. Bed bugs... ewwww. Hotel beds are disgustingly dirty. [daneg33]
yeah i used to be a housekeeper at a hotel so i know about how they dont wash those bedspreads.. i did stay at one place that had hair and stains and everything everywhere and they had closed up when we noticed it and we were stuck in there [moonlitmagikchild]

I usually sleep better on a hotel bed, just for the reasons you mentioned. I'm usually so tired, I just pass out while travelling. [Vladilyich1]
especially if you travel by car or plane and all cramped till you get there [moonlitmagikchild]

some hotals i can sleep good. others i can't, all depends how tired i am when i go to sleep. [mdawson]

i know we usually get tired due to all the travelling and even i get good sleep but only for sometime, i mean only a few hours and then i cant sleep more orelse i get awaked again and again at the breaks of an hour or two. for me it is difficult to get sleep may be as its a new place and that is the reason might be and also my son sleeps beside me and i always have a look at him. [icegermany]

I slept in a bed in a teacher's hostel in Lithuania and it was lumpy. Even worse was the pillow. I decided to use my travel pillow to improve my comfort. I managed to sleep because even though it wasn't pleasant I was tired after my days of sightseeing. I am a very keen traveler and I am usually able to sleep in almost any bed in overseas accommodation. In Indonesia in one hotel it said on the wall "do not sleep here these beds have bed bugs and flees so check out now". I asked for a different room and that night I heard rats running across the floor. The hotel was close to a mosque and I heard the early morning call for prayer. I was tired for I hadn't sleep well that night. In the morning I went to a better hotel but there were holes in the mosquito nets. In Jordan I slept a couple of night on a flat roof. It was cooler that being in a hotel room so that in the summer heat was lovely. I slept well until the early morning when Dogs began barking. [maximax8]
jeeze i dont see how you slept in those places lol.. i guess you can sleep anywhere! [moonlitmagikchild]

I feel very uncomfortable in hotel beds. I am very used to my bed and being in another bed makes me uncomfortable. And often, when I am in a hotel bed, I start wishing my one true soulmate was next to me and holding me until I fall asleep. [Number1Femme]
i bought a new bed so im getting spoiled.. i may not like the next hotel bed as much lol [moonlitmagikchild]

Yes I can sleep well in hotel beds. I just love the fact that I am in a hotel. [carlo_martin_soria]

I do not sleep well in hotels no matter how long I have been traveling, the beds are comfortable but there is no way I can sleep soundly unless I am in my own bed. I think it's the noise of people walking up and down the hall, the traffic noise from outside, doors opening and closing and other strange noises that keep waking me up. I'm always glad to get back home to my quiet home with the comfy bed. [delightfulstitches]
what about places that the doors are inside of a building to where your not right out side when you walk out? that way it avoids the traffic noises and etc [moonlitmagikchild]

Honestly, I can't sleep while in the airplane or a car. I love sleeping in hotel beds as its really comfortable Maybe others choose a not so good hotel so thats why they can't sleep well. I choose either 4 or 5 star hotels when ever I travel [sophie_dfuss]
i mostly choose a chain hotel but if thats not possible i look into ratings and stuff and so far have been pretty lucky [moonlitmagikchild]

I have trouble sleeping in a strange bed, so when I sleep in a hotel, I have trouble falling asleep unless I am totally exhausted. I have trouble sleeping anywhere except my own bed. [lynnemg]
a lot of people are like that [moonlitmagikchild]

I can't sleep well in hotels, I can't explain why when it is not my home, I can't sleep well. [feathers26]

I find it really weird when people are unable to sleep in hotels, and are so germophobic that they can't calm down enough to be able to relax. I for one, sleep like a baby [AOSpades]
the germ factor bothers me but thank goodness not enough to keep me from sleeping [moonlitmagikchild]

I can say if I am drunk then I guess I can sleep well but other than that I prefer watching tv. [eselmaro]

I can fall asleep easily:).Every time, i went to hotel with my hubby, i would be in good mood, don't know why...Perhaps due to the different environment. My father-in-law is always listening to the radio, from dawn until dark!As to me, luckily,a little effected by him. Exactly i try my best to put up with him because of his cancer. [lucky1girl]
ugh i know how that is.. my families house was always noisy and so its hard me staying the night there now but i put up with it because of their age and health [moonlitmagikchild]

some time i have to stay out of town. this is why i have to stay in hotel. some day i can sleep well when i feel very tired otherwise i dont sleep. [ivan2000bd]

I like hotle beds, just because it's fresh to me~:p [Clarissa1247]

i never have a problem sleeping on hotel beds when i travel. I find it relaxing, and i think one of the main purpose of hotels is to provide a good place to rest for travelling people. I love staying in hotels so far - based on my experience. I never have a problem with their beds or their room in general. [roi452]
ive had only a few problems before but not enough to turn me off from them [moonlitmagikchild]

I am very lucky as I have no problem to sleep anywhere. As long as I lie on the bed, I will just fall asleep soon no matter where I am. I love China [youless]
thats the way my hubby is.. he has been known to fall asleep in chairs, floor, anywhere! [moonlitmagikchild]

i always sleep like a pig in everywhere ...i don`t know why.. [changbyran2766]

Luckily I sleelp well in any place, but i feel the quality of hotel bed is better than my home. [gonglingling5]
yeah me too at least till i got my new bed.. now maybe not but still good [moonlitmagikchild]

Yes! I don't only like the bed, but everything else in hotel rooms. They're so cool and cozy. ZZZZZZZ.... [veganprince]
i need to be really cold to sleep and hotels are great with the ac cranked up [moonlitmagikchild]

Yes, I do…I'm the opposite of you that is to say I can sleep like a horse…standing up at the bus-stand even! I love sleeping, in fact its one of the few things I enjoy in life and whenever I am traveling, I am just like a child…forever excited about everything right from the road to bus/train, the hotel, the rooms, the bed, the food …nothing fails to catch my fancy. And when I am in a good mood I sleep soundly. [sudiptacallingu]
i love sleep too.. when i can get it [moonlitmagikchild]

Most time I can not fall asleep even though I feel very very tired. I have to stay to watch TV until I feel sleepy. So I do not like to leave my home. I think it is safe when my husband is beside me. [sunny0806]

well, sleeping in a hotel bed is just so relaxing, i did not encounter any problem sleeping in hotels,. i feel like so sossy everytime i slept in a hotel. what made me being conscious of are those other things in a hotel w/c has a lot of contacts from another person possibly checking in on the hotel like towels. staying in a hotel has privacy.. [oxtihama]

I'm an insomniac myself and still sleeping anywhere else than home really helps. That's probably because I like to travel alot. [DawGwath]
makes you wonder if there is something connecting insomnia to home that we both need to realize and change [moonlitmagikchild]

I think the beds in hotels are much better now than they were a few years ago! The last few places I stayed at had these awesome matteress that put me right to sleep as soon as i hit the bed...and the pillows are getting better as well =) [NIECIE21]
yeah the pillows are great! [moonlitmagikchild]

If the beds are good and clean in the hotel room, i can sleep well for hours.I will check beds and toilets when i check into the hotel room first because we will go to hotel for relaxing after many hours of work, traveling or something else.We should be provided quality of Services by them.Usually when i go out and spend lots of hours out traveling or site seeing ,i will become tired and get sleep so easily than normal i do.I never had a problem till now,Happy mylotting.. [mymytri]

no,i can not sleep well in hotel bed when i am on a trip,i usually used to sleep in my house, except to be so tired too much [JACK1000000]

I am the opposite. We came to Orlando yesterday, and I was awake most of the night. I never sleep well in a strange bed. We bought a new bed recently that is adjustable, and has 'zero gravity' for sleeping. It is wonderful, and I miss it so much. Susie. Review of bed on associated content under Susan S., and epinions as susie-34668. [susie34668]
i know im loving my sleep number bed and will probably have issues with regular hotel beds now that im getting spoiled but before that i had no probs [moonlitmagikchild]

I generally sleep well on any bed except if the bed is a KILLER! Haha~!lolLike the one when my wife & I went to a friend's place & it seems that the mattress was old & the spring was protruding irregularly, haha!~raspWe had backaches after sleeping on that!~thumbdown [zweeb82]
Haha!~lolIn fact it was a sofa bed & we had to carry the mattress & put it on the floor but I guess due to the many years of harsh treatment from the foldable metal structure towards the mattress, it has become deformeddohwhistle [zweeb82]

I'm having problems both sleeping and staying awake at the moment...cant find that happy medium so necessary for good health and balance. Like you, I can sleep wonderfully in other beds...usually motel rather than hotel. [MsTickle]
what is the difference between hotel and motel? i always forget. i may have meant to put the opposite lol [moonlitmagikchild]

yeah i think so. hotel beds seems to be rather good these days and the comforter is sooo comfy and warm that i could just sleep in all day. [kevsgirlalways]
i always over sleep the day im suppose to check out lol.. the other days i usually dont because i want to explore but i hate that last day of having to get out of the comfy bed [moonlitmagikchild]

hi moonlit....not really the same with my own bedroom...no matter how comfortable i am with the bed , the room and everything..i always sleep well in my own bedroom...funny isnt not? [vanities]
some people just are that way.. lol.. i hope you dont travel a lot to where you are missing out on sleep happy [moonlitmagikchild]

Like Jacob - http://www.linkbrander.com/go/47608 (look `im up) - all`s I need is steady ground and somewhere to place my head! [mythman]
lol thats how my hubby is [moonlitmagikchild]

Hotel beds have definately come a long way over the yrs thats for sure....I too am a Chronic Insomniac and SOMETIMES I do sleep very well in a hotel room but more so deeper than longer..Same wiht at my bfs place, I sleep like a dream when i go to visit him... [Ravenladyj]
i wonder if we just have something in our home environment that is making us insomniacs since i would think if we were at home we would be everywhere [moonlitmagikchild]

I have slept in good beds and bad beds but I still have trouble sleeping. It is cause it is different from home. Last year we went to WY and none of us could sleep too well. The beds were fine just different. [Ruthep]

My husband and I don't sleep much in hotel/motel beds. LOL Here at home our place is so tiny we can't even have a double bed, so he is on the couch, and I'm in my old single bed. So needless to say, when we get somewhere with a bed that is big enough for two, we don't do much "sleeping" if you get my drift! [danishcanadian]
you reminded me of when my hubby and i first were married and moved to florida in our car and got an apt with no Furniture but finally was given a couch and both of us were trying to sleep on it when it wasnt a pull out lol [moonlitmagikchild]

I never had problems with hotel beds.Perhaps its because i go to moderately comfort ones.I need moderatley a clean environment and well sometimes, i did have trouble getting the sleep.I do think hotels are putting more efoort and money to get better beds for their customers. They would like their rating and things to be higher all the time. Thanks! [UltimateAsoka]
yeah i think your right and hotels are investing more into beds now [moonlitmagikchild]
