How Long Do You Start To Pack Before You Travel

When would you pack before you travel? Like 1 day before or 1 week before? Actually I could pack really quick but sometimes I just get over-excited and pack the weekend before I travel, then I could keep thinking if I have forgotten something *smiles*. What about you?

I open my case a week before then i take my time during week to pack to make sure I do not forget anything and also give me time incase I need replace anything :) I do not like to rush and do things last minute because that is the time you forget things or lose things :) [kedves]

I will pack everything the night before the day i have to start. Then only we can collect all the things. So i usually pack at nights. [springs]

I used to pack my things a night before I travel. I make sure all the things I needed are all packed and also I don't like to pull out some things which I have to use while at home. [tontunan]

when i travel i usually pack my things a week before my travel. because mostly my only free time for packing is during weekends so if for example my travel falls on a thursday, i usally pack the week end before thursday..so i wont be bothered thinking during office days [bubblyapple]

I usually start to pack at least a week before I travel. [angemac23]

Hi friend, When i am going for a tour i will pack before three days. When going for a tour over excitement will be their, for me three or four days before to pack my bags. I will never be in horry every thing will be cool. have a nice day. [23uday]

I pack everything one day before. But few days prepare everything that should be packed like orining and putting scatch to my cotton dresses.I day before i pack them neatly on my travel bag and add a water bottle before i start from the home.Happy mylotting... [mymytri]

Dear W, well since i am travelling half a month so packing as such is quite routine for me, since my travel is on for atleast 7-10 days at a stretch, so i need to pack clothes which are not light in color, especially jeans & other stuff, which you can wear at least 2 days, otherwise its just a mix & match fo cloths & do hav some good qulaity of perfume/deodorant for the bad hair day, since ,my oart of the world is hot & dry, i definitley needs them quite a lot !!! HAAPPY HOLIDAYS.... [bhatt99in]

When I was a child, I wanted to start packing the month before! lol But now I typically get my suitcase out the week before I leave and slowly starting throwing things in there. Mostly the things I know I won't be needing. Then I make a list of what I need so that come time to leave, I can check things off and make sure I have everything packed. [Jennlk84]

Hi there wondericequeen. I'm always excited when i hear the word "travel". I love traveling even if its the same place over and over. As long as i can have the pleasure to travel, i'll go. And most of the time, i packed 5days before so as not to forget things that are necessary. But sometimes, i packed the night before the travel to ensure that the trip will be really go as it was planned since sometimes, its cancelled that make me sad. I even have a lists of the things that i will have. [laedyan]

At least two hours before traveling. haha. Just give me two hours then... voila I'm ready to go!!! I pack things really fast. And I don't need much more time just to do that. I can even pack my thing in less than 30 minutes. hehe [CMTS_87]

I like to pack about one week before a trip that I go on. I sometimes have quite a challenge packing. I went to South Africa in January and being pregnant means that I can't carry very much. I also had all my toddler son's stuff to pack. I had to pack quite lightly and even then I had difficulty carrying it all. We went to Latvia last year and the problem then was the budget airline had a 15kg luggage allowance. I had to think hard about how to share one bag for me and my son up to that weight. I had his buggy carried free but I had to pay extra for them to carry his travel cot that is so incredibly lightweight. [maximax8]

I will normally pack the day of travel. I used to work for an airline a little over 20 years ago and can pack one week's worth of clothing in a small suitcase that will fit under an aircraft seat. I will almost never check luggage when I fly (again, I learned that when I was flying weekly), so a trip doesn't require much. [Vladilyich1]

I don't spend longer time packing my luggage before I travel. Usually I spend few hours at night and it will be done:) I love China [youless]

Hello Wondericequeen,I usually pack my stuffs one or two days before travel, just to make sure that I don't forget things that I need most when I am out of my home. When we do last minute packing there is always a chance of forgetting to pack things that are important.Happy Mylotting! [brisk123]

It depends on the trip - is it a trip which is 1 night long or a week or .... If it's a trip where I sleep somewhere else only for one night I often pack my stuff maybe 1 hour before I have to leave... If it's a longer trip I start to think about what I have to take with me and such, right after I know WHEN I'll go.. sometimes I start to make a list very soon. And then again it depends on how far the trip goes.. if I have to travel a long time until I get to the destination I start packing earlier.. let's say, one week before the trip. BC I don't want to miss anything... I'm not a typical girl who need thousands of little things so I don't have that much to pack but I want to be ready...but often I still get stress bc of thinking: Well, I can buy that later... and later becomes the day before leaving and when its sunday...well, that is a problem LOL [19ewf84]

I'm an awful gotta planner, so as soon as I know I'll be going somewhere already I start packing, and then keep fussing with it up until the last minute. Even if it is a year ahead, already I'm putting little things in my suitcase. [drannhh]

For me itīs both: one week and one day.lolAbout one week before the trip, I start counting the pills I have to take for my trip. If I have not enough, I have to buy them and one of them is a prescription medicine. The rest is done the day before. I pack in my living room: I make little piles of different sections (lingerie, pills and toothbrush etc, tops, bottoms, a "dressy" dress just in case, shoes inside a plastic bag) A couple of hours before I have to leave, I actually put everything in the suitcase. Many times I also take food with me. [atacamaval]
U know my friend i agree the way you pack your thing when u travel, no harrying and no delay. [kimgtrrz78]

I prepare first my things one day before i go, and then at the night i pack it so that no thing i left, i only consume almost 30 mins ot 50 mins, i also do that for so that no important thing we forget to bring. [kimgtrrz78]

Well for me it depends on where I am going, like when we went on our first cruise a couple years ago. I started packing like a month before we left for our trip, I was really excited to go. But like if we are just going to my grandmas house for the weekend, i wont pack until like 20 minutes before we leave. lol. For me it just depends :) [Alex18]

Only a day before. I really find it difficult to pack too far in advance as I might need stuff which I have packed away. What I take with me also depends on my mood so I might pack one thing too early then replace it with an entirely different thing the day before the trip. However, I compensate for the last minute rush by having a prepared list of essentials so that I do not forget anything. Packing has become gradually easier for me because I am learning to travel lightly and to carry more money than clothes! [MsCYPRAH]

I think I don't require a lot of time to pack my materials. I just get my bags and keep some cloths in it. And I don't think it is difficult. Difficult thing is to remember that we have taken each and every thing which is necessary during our trip, because it happen that we forgot soap, brush, towel, etc. Even I do such silly mistakes once forgot my soap and then purchased a new one. [rakesh284]

I make a list of things I am going to need about a month before the trip so that I can go through what I have and buy the things I need. I start packing about a week before the trip. I have my list and go by that and as I put things in the suitcase, I mark it off the list. And I tend to add more items to this list as I am packing. :) [NIECIE21]

I start packing just the day before the travel date. Or maybe two das before. My final packing happens just before leaving. Then ofcourse I have left something at home. Forgotten to buy. Many times due to this I leave things at home. Welll I still like to pack the day before at the earliest. [anura32]

I should start a week in advance, but I start the day before and then I'm missing lots of stuff. But medications and things I use every day, I really can't pack until the day before. Tends to make things hectic when I do that. [writersedge]

i only traveled to camp and erie we only travel by car but i pack a couple days before , i make a list so i dont forget anything with 4 kids and a husband its easy to forget things, this year we are going to be going all diffrent places so we may pack a week before. [psychotaz206]

I am a seasoned traveler, and have been traveling more than 20 years, usually at least twice a year. I usually have a checklist of things to bring along for a holiday, so packing for me is relatively easy. Most times, I will pack only hours before I go off to the airport to fly off. That's enough for me, and I usually don't forget to bring essential things on my trip. My checklist ensures that the important items are usually included in my packing. [lexus54]

I start to pack at least a week before so I have exactly what I want in my case and nothing is left behind that I really want to take. mgraham126 [mgraham126]

I ussualy pack the day or night before. Howver I am always getting what I need for the store like torites, new choles, or anything ealse early. [scififan43]

When I am traveling I usually start packing the day before. If I pack too early, I always tend to forget something important. And this way I can get all my errands done with out rushing around making sure I have everything I need before leaving. [mishastar]

I usually pack my things when i travel on the night before i left. this results to a lot of problems like leaving important stuff. but i can't change this habit of mine so i always end up with a lot of problems. [ryotan08]

I am a procrastinator, so I usually pack the night before. I have never gone a trip that was longer than two weeks, so packing the night before isn't really a big deal. I do, however, forget things such as a toothbrush or something little like that. But if I were to go on a trip longer than two weeks, I'd probably make a list and start packing 1 or 2 days prior. [cutiepie4you]

Definitely a few days before. I like to plan and be organised. My husband does everything last minute. I can't stand the stress of 'at the last minute'. [saffrondallas]

Hello wondericequeen, I always pack my stuff a night before I need to travel. Sometimes I can get very forgetful. If I do it too early, I might forget about a lot of things. Even if I do it last minutes too, I still forget to put all the stuff lol [gr8life]

I tend to start packing the week before a trip, and then make some last minute adjustments the night before I'm leaving. I always overpack, and end up taking too much stuff, most of which I don't need or end up using. [kriszelunka]

me? i pack my back a day before the travel... lol im really just like that... but ill always put in paper the things i must bring... [jheLaichie]

Less than a day for. Because before I start to pack I take down notes. What are the things should be carrying in my travel. When I am already finish jotting the things or stuff to bring that's the time I am starting packing my personal stuff. Enjoy and have a nice day ahead! [kent_help2smile]

I usually start packing a few days before I go, just to make sure that I have everything. First I made a list of all the stuff i want to take, then I get my luggage ready, and then I start filling it up. The last thing I pack is my computer, and cellphone, because those are the last things I use before I leave. [danishcanadian]
