Was There A Place In Your Country That You Want To Visit But Never Had A Chance

Lets say you had been in many places, and sometimes you had been in another country but there was tis place in your country that you really want to visit so bad but you never had the chance because of some unexplainable circumstances. Was there a certain paradise found in your country that you always wanted to visit for a vacation but you never had the chance?

I always wanted to see the grand canyon or go to Yellowstone National Park. I don't travel much and those places are just too far away for me to visit anytime soon. Maybe someday I will get the chance. I am hoping for it anyways. [wickedlove]
Yes grand canyon was very breathtaking It reminds me of the landscapes in the planet mars.It really looks amazing to see how mother nature formed something so beautiful for millions of years. [albertwhisker]

I'm from Indonesia, and there is a place that i really want to visit, this place called Raja Ampat. Some people said its the best spot to dive. But this place is very far far away, its in the most east island from my country. And its very difficult to get there too, because I heard that the nature in there is still wild, there is sometimes the storms too there. Its a very dangerous place but so beautiful. [luvlymee26]

yes surely there are one or two place where i want to visit but still not get chanced.. but surely thinking to visit it in next holidays.. Here in India i want to visit GOA.. it is nice place for tourist.. nice beach and many other beautiful places.. i will surely thinking to go their during my next holidays. [padhiaranand]

hi, here's the thing for me. as long as you're alive there is a chance. so, since i'm still alive, i would not say that i no longer have the chance to visit the place. and visiting a place would always be a chance until unless that place vanished. i would want to go to boracay someday. i know a lot of people have been there already and they say that it's not as beautiful as before. but still, i would love to check out the place for myself and be able to say that i have been to one of the famous beaches of my country. well, for me, re-visit is the word. and i hope i can share it in this discussion. in the 90s, when i was doing a story a year after the earthquake that shook luzon island in the philippines, if visited a town on top of the mountain where you can literally touch the clouds and enjoy an early morning mist -- fog is more like it -- that limit your vision to only about a meter. that town, which we climbed for two days on rugged and unforgiving slopes, was badly affected by the earthquake. with two Cameras and a few pieces of clothes, the natives helped me in the climb and even tied me to a tree when we have to stop for the night. it's not really far, but the terrain is difficult and the slope, too drastic. when i reached to top, i was greeted as if i was sent from heaven. so, i did a lot of interviews, had a very good dinner and went on to rest my body in a wooden for the night. the following morning, i woke up early and enjoyed the view. i went to a cliff to see what was down there and how high we're situated, but i could hardly see anything because of the cloud formation. when the sun came up and winds began to blow the clouds away, i was shocked to see the highway down below which is as wide as the strand of one's hair that i could not even figure out any vehicle passing by the road. that was the time that i was told that i am on the second highest peak in the philippines. frankly, i never bothered to ask the metric side because fear and apprehension jolted me that i could hardly thing, much less talk. after the longest minute in my life, i asked how i would be able to descend and when i answered that it was the same way up, cold sweat rolled on my spinal column, inspite of the cool wisp of air on the open parts of my body. so, when i told the mayor about my predicament, he told me not to worry because they can tie me to a rope on our way down... so, what do you think happened. now, i want to go back to that place, but age and shaking knees may not survive the treachery of the slopes. i really want to touch those clouds again and experience early morning mist on my skin. if i can afford it, i'll probably try to use the way i went down to go back there again. by the way, the place is called ambaguio, not baguio, it's ambaguio... and the mayor's then was moises amokla... it's one experience i will never forget and want so much to re-live by visiting the place again... I´d like to visit the far South of Chile. There the mainland breaks into islands. It´s beautiful but I have only seen it on TV. It is expensive too as it´s very far from where I live. My country is very long and thin and I´m in the middle. [marguicha]
I know Chile's shape reminds of of a Chili pepper. Its really long and I do understand why its hard for you to reach, [albertwhisker]

I live in the US on the east coast, and I alway wanted to go to see California,it's 3,000 miles,it's at the west coast.I never got to see it,I doubt I ever will.It looke like a cool place and I wonder if I would see any celebrities there.I also would like to see the ocean at the west coast. It's probably different from here. [Java09]

I've always wanted to travel up to Scotland and take a short, relaxing break in the highland area, just to escape the frantic hustle and bustle of city life, and give me a chance to unwind in the warmth of a cosy little inn munching on the delicious local delicacieshappyhappy [MrKennedy]

hello albert! here in our country, there's still a lot of places that i would want to visit and there's a lot of hidden paradise here... for no, what i am always thinking & dreaming of visiting one day are Baguio (haha never been there and if i already had a chance something always happens...sad), Palawan ( i like to see the underground river), Boracay ( i guess most of us wanted to be there..the most popular place for beach lovers), Davao ( i have heard so many beautiful things about this place already and so makes me want to visit the place) & Albay - to see the Mayon in real! how i wish i find a chance to visit those places but for now, its quite impossible due to many reasons like our sched & of course the budget! oh by the way, i also want to see the Pagsanjan Falls...hehe i am from Laguna but i never been there...*sigh* [ckyera]

I live on the east coast of the US and have traveled a good bit around here. When I was young we lived in Texas, and did a lot of site seeing around that area. I have been to Las Vegas several times and out to the Grand Canyon. But I would love to go to Yellowstone National Park and visit around that area. But it would have to be during the summer time, would not want to be there during the winter months. To cold. [sassy28]

...Hi albertwhisker, I would love to see more of the United States. Starting with the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, the Everglades, Hawaii, New England in the fall. The country has so many lovely and interesting places to visit. It would be nice to rent an RV and perhaps take some family members who could help drive and just drive from here to there, stopping when you wanted to, and enoying the scenery as you go. Maybe one day. Take care. [artistry]

My country is too big and I have seen just very very few places. I want to see my whole country but still i have not achieved as much that i can walk freely in country anywhere....But in future yes i would like to see my country then parts of world too. [chdsandeep]

Philippines is a beautiful country. There are many beautiful places to see but i never had the chance to visit them. one of the reasons why i can't travel is lack of money. i don't have enough budget for travelling. if given a chance, i would like to visit baguio, batanes, bohol, cebu, davao, ilocos, palawan, siargao and many many more. palawan is definitely the place i would like to see first. i'd like to go to coron reefs, elnido marine reserve park, tubbataha reef marine park and a lot more.. [gracie04]
hi! try subscribing to promo alerts of local airlines. or visit their websites often. both PAL and CebuPacific sometimes have very cheap flights. cebupacific sometimes have zero-fares promo that literally cuts down the travel cost to very minimal. often, flights are booked months ahead. as for accommodation, you can check local b&b for an inexpensive stay. or choose places where you know someone who will let you crash in for a few nights. hehe i'm seeing 3 common places i'd like to visit myself... bohol, palawan and batanes. goodluck. hope someday you get to enjoy traveling too. it would be great to play local tourist in our country. happy [mylesnarvaez]

hi albert! happy there are a few places in our country which i would like to visit. i've been to all regions in the country, but sadly mostly for work before and just a few times for vacation... and often i was not able to visit the tourist areas. locally, i would like to visit batanes, palawan and bohol. bohol is somewhat the easiest to get to amongst the three, all i need is a bit of time to fit it in my schedule. and a visit to bohol would mean a quick trip to cebu and iloilo too, which i've been to several times before. add to that i might be able to meet some mylot friends there too. bohol is a place i just used to read in books in primary school, just like taal, rice terraces, pagsanjan, mayon and all those well-known landmarks in the country. well i've been to all of those except this one. chocolate hills is something i need to see for myself to do justice to the books i have read. palawan... i've been dreaming of the place for long but never got the chance to actually go there. after bohol, that's my next stop. hehe the place has so much to give. it has the most number of species (fish, birds, etc) locally and most frequented by marine biologists, microbiologist and bird watchers. marine life is so diverse. and i would presume a number of activities in ornithology would be interesting too. then lastly batanes. hehe i have yet to have someone willing enough to go there with me. i am very interested with the untouched culture and serenity of the area. the lowest crime rate in the country. but everytime i asked somebody to join me there, they beg off when they realized that you can get marooned in the area during foul weathers... which was often enough to make trips there quite infrequent. [mylesnarvaez]

i would love to go to the west coast of Canada and visit Vancouver, especially now that the winter olympics are coming up. i have been to the east coast and loved it. [cher913]

I haven't travelled at lot in my own country, but one day I have to go northern Norway and see Lofoten and all the puffins. Every year in the middle of April half a million puffins come in to breed, and they all come at once. I'm sure that must be a great sight. [Torunn]

I have one place i would like to visit someday even my cousin from Croatia also want to go there, it is so famous that i can even go there. It is far from where i live in because you should use an air transportation or super-ferries to go there, maybe soon we will be using the chopper of my boss to get their but still it is impossible for it is just for business purposes. Boracay that is it a beach which has its own beauty that i am talking about. I hope someday i will be going there for a vacation, maybe in summer. [john_ronald]

I am living in China, a big country. There are so many beautiful places to visit. Some are famous for natural interest; Some are famous for historical heritage. I have travelled a lot, visiting beautiful moutains, rivers, gardens and buildings. But there is one place I've been dreaming to go. That is Yunnan Province. It is located in the southwest of China where minority people live. They are different in clothing, culture and customs. And it is a place not developed so well, so you can enjoy nature and enviornment. I have been dreaming of going there. But it is far from where I live. I do not have enough time to go there. [kathy714]

Yes! I am having many beautiful and historic places in my country, I want to visit but didn't till now. Not only in my country, I want to visit various places in the world. hope it will happen in a day! [avimra]

That is so true. We visit places all over the world but invariably never get down to visiting the one place in our country we have always wanted to. I guess because we know it is part of our country and it is easy to go there. We just have to make the time. The one place I have never been able to make the time to visit in my country is - The Andaman & Nicobar Islands. [mariemanuel]

There are a lot of tourist spots here in Ceby that I really want to go or visit with but it is not under unexplainable circumstances why I didn't have the chance to go there...but because I have no money and I can't really afford to go there. I want to go to Boracay also with my family and I am still waiting for the grand promo that occurs every year. I am so excited about it. I want to spend time with my family.lol [joannaleed]

I have always wanted to visit the Yorkshire Coastline. I wish to go to Robin Hood Bay, Scarborough and Whitby. I would like to go to the Captain Cook Museum. I could go up there on a train. I would try to get a cheap train ticket. I might get to go there in the spring of this year. In the summer I shall be traveling to Canada. I always go off traveling overseas but I rarely explore places in my home country. I fonly remember taking my son up to Northumberland a couple of years ago. We explored a castle, a coastline, visited some islands and went to a tree house. [maximax8]

I'd love to visit the states of Washington, Oregon and Alaska because I've never been there. I also believe, based on pictures I've seen, that they are very beautiful locations. [6precious102]

I live in the U.S., and I'd like to visit California, Florida, and New York. [Bd200789]

I lived near the Grand Canyon, for about 3 years. I never got to go see it. This is something I would like to see. This is in my country. Out side my Country I have always wanted to visit Canada. I am believing I will one day. I never thought I would go out side my country, but I got to go to Mexico. [jezzmay]
I have even been to the city, in which you get there and never got to see it. I plan on going as soon as possible. It would be nice to go now with the weather like it is. [jezzmay]

I used to live in Southern California and there is this certain peak in the peninsula that I always wanted to reach. I never did find the road that led to the top. Now I'm in Northern California and don't know if I will go back to try to venture that peak. [libby2009]

I live in Australia on the East Coast and as it is such a large country, there are many places that I do want to visit but have not had the chance yet. The country is just too big! I am yet to see the real Aussie Outback, places such as Uluru (Ayers Rock), Broken Hill and Alice Springs. Also the top end of Queensland such as The Daintree Rainforest, Great Barrier Reef and The very top of Australia itself. There is also the West Coast which might as well be another country it is so far away! The scenery over there looks really amazing! happy I have been fortunate enough to travel overseas and have been to many of the places in the USA that Americans in this discussion are wishing to visit as well as the UK and China. I definitely will get to these places in Australia as I plan to travel more locally once the kids are older. [RawBill1]

i think that the Great Wall i always want to visit.i often watch it in the movic and TV,it seems great building and attracted many people come from differernt country to see it.although i am chinese, because of money.i have this chance to visit until now.i decide that i earn money much and visit the Great Wall at my lifetime and dont leave any regret in my life. [bingchen]

wow, not only one. there are too much, lol but only less of money currently. sad so, i'll earn enough money to visit one by one, and from east to west, from south to north. wink [yolanda19191]

Yes there are many places in my own country where i want to visit but untill now i am unable to visit there. I am collection some money for my trip, lets see when it gets started. In my country Pakistan there is a whole northern area belt, full of most beautiful tourist spots like K-2 mountain and other natural valleys, lakes etc. I hope by the end of this year I would be able to start my trip. [rockydam83]

Hey my friend! I live in Bangladesh and there are a number of really visitable places here. At first, I would like to mention the name of Cox's Bazar, the longest sea-beach in the world and one of the natural wonders of nature. I've cherished a dream of visiting this place since my childhood when I used to watch scenery of here on TV. The other places which I've never visited but like to visit are Madhabkunda waterfall in Sylhet, the Sundarban, the largest mangrove forest and one of the natural wonders of the world. Another place is Kuakata beach, locally called 'Sagar Kanya' (Daughter of the sea). And there are Mainamati ruins in Comilla, Mahasthangarh in Bogra. Moreover, there are many other spectacular places in Bangladesh which I'm not aware of wish to visit when I'll get the opportunity. Good luck! [faridmadeabillion]

Hi albert!^^ There is a place here in our country that I really want to visit. Actually, it's not just one place. There are lots of places here that I want to visit if I have the chance. I have been into many tourist places here but I haven't been into all of them. There are still places I want to go to. If I was only rich I probably have gone to all the tourist places here.^^;; I just love traveling. And those places I have been to, it was only because it was part of a school field trip or a training, something like that. I think, it's only once that I've been in a tourist spot for the sole purpose of vacationing and the money I spent all came from my wallet.^^ This year I am hoping that I will be able to travel again, perhaps in another country if not here within our country.^^ [secretbear]

I never traveled to any place known as paradise in my country although there are a lot of them. But once i happened to travel via Varanasi, the most holy and ancient place in India.I had to change train there.I had a lot of luggage and so i preferred to stay at the railway station.I so much wanted to visit Varanasi but i could not fulfill my desire. Now i want to visit Rajasthan,Gujarat and UP.But due to the lack of time,i can't so it now. [saumitrakumar]

There are many places I would like to see...Australia is such a vast country. I'd specially like to check out the west and south east coasts and travel some more inland. Tasmania is another place I'd like to visit and the coast along the lower edge of Australia. There is so much to see and do...I hope I get to see at least some of it some day. [MsTickle]

That is a god one because many of us have not seen even the famous tourist spots of our own city. For instance I have never visited the museum at the Fort St George in my city Chennai South India.I have read that it houses most of the paraphernalia of the British rulers and the soldiers before the independence of our country.I just love to visit this place which is only four kilometers from my place. But I don't know which prevents me from visiting this place.Lets see whether I am going to make this after your discussion at least.lol [balasri]

Hiya albert, There are many places, maybe too many places that I want to visit but one of them would San Sebastian just to go and bathe in the Sea. Would like to visit Zaragoza, Barcelona again and Seville. There are so many impossible to list. I love travelling when I can. [lovinangelsinstead21]

im from the philippines and there are basically many beautiful places here that one should see. but unfrotunately for me,i havent got the chance to see all of these.. one of the places i want to go is boracay. though we have beaches here in bohol which are equally beautiful too,id like to feel the ambiance there and its views and everything.. [nancyanne]

I always wanted to visit Bicol region, because of Mt. Mayon. I want to see the perfect cone of Mayon. My mother grew up in Masbate and she came back there when she was processing her papers on her piece of land that stands there. As I saw on television program when sometimes the topic is about Bicol, the place is just perfect. If you really want to have a peace of mind that is the perfect place to spend time. I hope I have my early retirement and stay there till the time I die. I also wants to visit Davao City and Boracay. Those place I have been mentioned can be find in my country Philippines. [grecychunny26]

I can think of two places in the United States that I would like to visit at some point during my life. The first place that I would like to visit is New England, I've always heard great stories about the New England region but I've never had an opportunity to visit. The other place that I would like to visit is the Pacific Northwest mostly because of the scenery there. Also, I've never been anywhere near that part of my country. [dorannmwin]
Thank you so much for the best response. I think this might be one of the first times that I've seen a best response that wasn't on the first page of responses. [dorannmwin]
