Here the taxis are mainly yellow and green. Sometimes it'll have other colors like blue and red but it's not so common.

We used to have taxis coloured yellow and black, a long time ago. These days, they come in all colours. the only requirement is that their numberplate is coloured yellow with black letters, while a private vehicle has a white numberplate with black letters. [pree70]

In my local town taxis are allowed to be any car with 5 doors. So I see many different colored taxis driving about. The most common colors are blue, black, silver and white. In my nearest city there is in addition to these cars some London taxis. They are black and are of a particular style. My friend worked as taxi driver and he had a black London taxi. It had one seat for him, the driver, a seat in the back facing forward and a pop up seat facing backwards. He could fit five passengers in his taxi. I went to quite a few places in his taxi and on half an hour journeys I felt lucky. My friend lived near me and gave me a lift in his taxi to the school I taught in sometimes. The other teachers saw me in a taxi but it was of course my friend's taxi. [maximax8]

Hi Youless......Formerly it waa easy to identify taxis in our country since they were either Fiat or Ambassador cars painted black,with yellow roof.....But now taxis come in different colours and different models and the only way to identify them is to look at the number plates....Yellow ones with black letters denote taxis and white ones with back letters denote private vehicles....... i am sure if there is any particular rule or regulation set by our local authorities for the colors of the taxis.... BUT, until the 80's - most of taxis in the country were black with yellow roof - (similar to india, i think). lately i see most taxis in the cities are red with white roof, the airport limos are white all over, and taxis in smaller towns are still the old black and yellow combination. In my Country Philippines there is no color identification it is the registered number that is yellow(for taxi) and even here in Kuwait it is the same way as it is the same way..... and most of them are in white color.. [cherylal]

Hello dear youless. We have mainly colors of black, green, blue, yellow, orange and white, but we do not have red taxies. There used to be red taxies on the street, but that was many years ago. We don't have any of the yellow taxis in our part of India. What is more common is the autorikshaw....which is black and yellow and is a three wheeled vehicle(all over India) Or a city taxi which is a white car or a tempo (not in all parts of India). [SViswan]

When I hear the word taxi the picture that comes to mind is the old yellow checkerboard taxi cabs and think that is what they SHOULD look like - the town we live in and all the neighboring towns as well do not have a cab company, there is just no need for it out here I guess. when we go to a bigger area the cabs I see are generally white... nothing to stand out and say "Hey we are a cab, need a ride" [Modestah]

In here in the Philippines (Cebu), the color of the taxis here is white. I like the yellow ones like in United States Of America or like in your country. They look nice and visible even at night. In my country, city taxis are easily to be recognized by their red and white color. We still could see taxies with different colors from different companies. Of course the easiest way to distinguish a taxi is by the Taxi sign on the top of the car. City taxies are metered. The flagged down fare for the first two km is USD1.70 and USD0.03 for every 100m after. [lkbooi]

I remember when I was a little boy, it was only a few colors. Light blue with dark blue wordings to depict the company logo and name. Yellow top with a black body. White top with a apple green body to match. And the models of the cabs are always the same... Toyota Crown or Corolla or Corona. Nissan Cedric. Now a days, the models, make and color are so varied. I kinda lost track of them all already. Let see, off the top of my head there is the common Blue color. Bright yellow. The yellow top with a black body is still around. The white top with red body is a new company. Then there is the light apple green cab, which is also a new company. Then there is the silver ones. Then there are also the white ones, totally white ones. And the latest one, I think, is the sporty orange. Make and models range from Hyundai Sonata, Kia, Toyota Corolla or Camry or Wish, Mercedez, Honda Airwave. Some rarely seen models include the Renault Kangoo, the Toyota Hilux and even the lesser seen Fiat as well. Oh, there is also the VolksWagon and the China brand (dunno which one) as well. [ahgong]

Taxis in Italy are white usually...they used to be another color when i was younger but im not sure anymore which one..it was over 20 years ago...i would say yellow but i might be mistaken adn maybe tey were blue...right now anyway im very sure, they are white... [JoMarch]

There are varieties of colors of taxis here in our place. White and yellow are the most dominant. I seldom ride taxis so I am not sure if there are other colors available. I only ride it when I am in a hurry or I have so many things with me. [izathewzia]

I am in London, Ontario, Canada. We have 2 primary taxi companies in town. "U-Need-A" cabs have black with yellow accent cars, and "Abouttown" have sky blue cars with white accents on them. [CanadaGal]

The taxis in Colorado Springs are yellow and black. There had been a second company with orange and black taxis, but it went out of business. [jtr115]
here in our country Pakistan the color of taxis are yellow. But some taxi drivers have colored them as per their choice. we also call the taxis yellow cap. this is due to old taxis which were black colored, as i think, but the upper had of those taxis was yellow. [sheenshaukat]

Taxis here are always yellow. It might be dark yellow or plain yellow though. In the city near my cottage, they are dark blue. There are also taxis with orange color, these are the ones u have to call and they arrive at your door to get you. [makatas]

In our city, taxis are usually just regular cars owned by the taxi driver. They freelance for the taxi company that gets customers for them. Then they drive the person where they want to go. Many local taxis have a magnetic sign on the side during business hours. They are very comfortable sedan type cars. The tourists prefer them to the smaller traditional taxi cars. [beautyqueen26]
