My husband and I are stuck in canada for now, due to our current situation, so we will likely vacation in Toronto or Montreal, two places that interest both of us. However, as soon as we get a few details ironed out, we'd love to travel to Europe, more specifically Denmark, Eastern Europe, Turky, Russia, and Ukraine.

At the end of April I'm taking a 2 week vacation to Arizona to visit my best friend and we're going to drive to Las Vegas for 2 days and I'll be back home that's about the extent of my traveling for the year. gotta save up for a big cruise Mexican Riviera next year. [lizzieluvsu]

I had been to Canada in 2007. I was able to visit and see Montreal and its neighboring cities, also Toronto. I also visited Ottawa, the capital of Canada. I was able to see some cities in British Columbia like Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Peat Meadows, etc. Had been able to see Whistler and Black Combs. My brother also toured us to Victoria and seen the many beautiful places there. It is my dream to travel next to Europe and USA. Maybe join a cruise. But due to financial constraints, I don't know when that dream would materialize. It is more easy for me to travel next to the asian countries where it is nearer our place and the cost of travel is not that so expensive. Wish your plan to travel to Europe will materialize soon. We have just returned from Hongkong & Macau; so most probably our next vacation will not happen this year. Our next destination is Sydney, Australia. I have not been to Canada yet, though my aunt and her family are living in Quebec. Maybe we will make a trip one day.....lol [lazeebee]

Hi....danishcanadian...Have always wanted to see South America, and now my interests have been truly "wetted"...as my son just got back from a 3 week working stint in Rio, Rhedonde...and Sao Paulo! He has travelled extensively, and he sings wonderful praises of Brazil, mostly attributed to the wonderful people there, and how open and receptive they were to foreigners! Loved the country, and said he found that it did not stand up to the reputation of criminal activity it has received! My son is tall &slim...and he actually put on 11 pounds (which he never does) because the food was so good! So, we are planning a vacation there next February, as he made some really good friends there, too! In the meantime, I hope......soon....we see some telltale signs of spring! Cheers! [pergammano]

It looks like it will be a long time before we take another vacation. We certainly can't afford it. I also worry about safety these days. I think Canada is the safest place to be. But, if I could go anywhere I wanted my first choice would be Hawaii. After that there are some European countries I would like to visit like Ireland, England, Scotland and Italy. [patgalca]
Though I would like to travel abroad, I don't see that happening anytime in the near future. My usual vacation trips are usually to Florida where I have family. So it is usually a combination of visiting with family and a vacation for me. I am planning a cruise to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico in the fall. I am also going to New York in August for a few days. I always wanted to go to Norway, for the fjords and spectacular scenery but the furthest I've been in Europe is Majorca and Germany. Even when I was in Germany, I didn't get to see the castles, other than Schloss Neuhaus which was almost next door to the Army Naafi Shop. lol. I'd like to see the fairytale castles of Bavaria, but I'm kept busy at the moment with England, and its history. There are some beautiful places here, some of which are still very olde worlde in feel and design. The Lake District is somewhere I'd still like to go, and Scotland and Ireland beckon. I have no big plans for anywhere, as the money will never be there, but I do hope to go to 2 different places this year. The first is my mother's, mother's family's reunion in West Virginia in July. I got the announcement for it a week or so ago from an aunt, who helps to plan it, and I would really like to go this year. It has been years since I have gone and they have them either every, or every other, year. My one daughter would like to go, too, since she would like to show her husband how beautiful the country is in the mountains and hills of West Virginia and she can show him all the things that she went to see as a child. I am also hoping to go to Kansas City, Missouri to a "Hippo Reunion" of the hippo group that I belong to on yahoo. It is the 10th one planned by the group and each has been held in a different place. Last year I went to Chicago for the 9th reunion, which was the first that I had been to. I had a great time and would like to go back and meet the friends who I met there. [idowrite72]
I really want to go to new York, Japan, or Europe. hehe. There are so many places that I haven't been to mostly because traveling is costly. I think I will have a better chance of going if I have a friend or relative living there which will save me a lot of money in terms of rent. My last trip to Canada was a month long one and I stayed with relatives for the whole month and only spent less than 2000 canadian dollars! it's so cheap! [mimico]
I was supposed to visit my best friend down in Atlanta, but now that won't happen until next year =(. I might go to Vermont to visit my other friend for a week or so. I haven't decided yet. I'll be going to Florida soon to visit some family. I guess it's more of a visit than a vacation, but still, it's somewhere nice and warm!! I'd love to go somewhere more exotic and for a longer trip, but I just can't do it financially right now. My next vacation will be to Bali in Sept/Oct this year. After that, we'll be saving for a round the world trip which we're hoping to begin towards the end of 2011, starting in Las Vegas, as our friends are planning on getting married there. No big plans this year because of illness in the family so we want to stay closer to home for a while. But in the summer we thought we might take 2 or 3 small little week-end trips maybe one to Antwerp, one to Paris and maybe one to London. NEXT vacation??? I'm still waiting for my FIRST vacation! It's sad, I know, but the very last vacation I've been on was when my soon-to-turn-28 year old son was 7 years old! We rented a cottage on a beach for a week. It was loads of fun, barring the old-fashioned 'outhouse' since there was no toilet in the cottage. (Have you ever had to use an outhouse in the middle of summer? P U!!! Was that ever stinky!!!) Oh, I've been here and there for a day but I don't consider them as vacations. They were more like "day trips". Even when I was flown to Oklahoma City to meet The Rolling Stones, I had to leave the very next morning to come back home. I've taken day trips that involved a LOT of driving. I use to love driving so I'd sometimes just get into my car and drive as far as I could, spend a few hours or overnight wherever I ended up, then come back home the next day or later the same day, but that's not really a 'vacation'. My husband has made all kinds of promises to me about traveling. He's traveled pretty much all over the world while on business matters. Me? The farthest I've been was to Tortola, one of the British Virgin Islands and that was only because I won the vacation in a contest. That was before I was married or had kids. Sadly, my husband's promises, I've found, are only empty words. If I EVER go on another vacation, I'll have to plan it myself and pay for it myself. If that happens, guess what? I'm GOING by myself!!! I'd love to see Europe, Australia and maybe Hawaii. Going back to the Virgin Islands is also a possibility because it is simply SO beautiful there! There MAY be a trip to Puerto Rico in there sometime as well. On my last (also my first) trip to the Virgin Islands, we stopped in Puerto Rico on the way there and the way back. Unfortunately, all I saw of Puerto Rico was the inside of the airport. I'd love to see more of it. [mentalward]
For now I am not sure when and where I will go. I have just recely uesed some of my vaction time to atted a local event held last weekend. I would like to travel overseas agian. I have been to the Phillippines two times and I hae friends there. I would also like to viist Canada too. I have been to BC but that has been about 15 years ago. [scififan43]
If you are able to go further afield, try a vacation in some part of Asia such as Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Bali, Phuket, China or even Singapore. The language, culture and people are different and you will enjoy a different kind of travel experience. For me this year, I may plan holiday trips to Bali and Australia, Melbourne in particular. I have been wanting to go these places the past two years but chose instead to make other travel plans. Although I have been to Australia many times, I have not visited Bali before so I'm really looking forward to such a trip. The reason why I am targeting Melbourne is that both my brother and a nephew are there currently, so I thought I'd drop in to pay them a visit. [lexus54]

We have plane tickets to go to New York City the first week in May, and I splurged on Broadway show tickets. My son, his girlfriend, and her little girl live there, so we're finally going to brave the Big Apple. The last time we were in New York state we avoided the metropolitan area, but as long as we don't have to drive in all that traffic, we're sure we're going to have a great time. Of course, they live in a 3 story walk-up, so we're going to get our exercise, too. Last year he lived in Eugene, OR, so we got to fly out there, but now he's moved, so we're anxious to see his new neighborhood. [sbeauty]

Well holidays for us this year are a bit of a sore subject we had booked our 09 holiday late last year and had paid the deposit, we were going to take our first holiday abroad. However three weeks ago my hubby was made redundant from his job so now we are in a bit of a bind as obviously the last thing we want to do with the redundancy money is waste it. So until he can find another job it is looking unlikely at the moment that we will go, but we have until the end of july so fingers crossed something will come up!!! [gemini_rose]
