I dont get to travel as I dont have the money for it so I want to travel virtually thru mylot. Im posting this discussion in hopes of hearing about your place you call home or a great vacation you have taken. So are you willing to share with me the best of your travels? Any pics are cool too. Me im in Minnesota USA and well its okay here but ive been here all my life so its getting boring.

I live in Nebraska I have lived here all my life. I went to Disneyland when I was about 15 my cousin won a Free trip there and I went with it was alot of fun. My highschool took a trip to Lake of The Ozarks when I was a senior in highschool I did not really enjoy that trip much. When I was little my parents took me to Santa Claus workshop in Colorado Springs that will be a memory I will always have it was so much fun. I wish I could afford to take my kids. I have also been to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun in Kansas City and I went to Las Vegas to a wedding when I was 17 Vegas is not much fun if you are not 21 though. They did have a lot of cool vintage Slot Machines, though. [luvstochat]

Ok so I live in England in a small town, which I can imagine will be much different to you already (though I've never been to USA at all). When I was 18 I went to live in Southern Africa for a year in Namibia, in a small isolated town called Luderitz. Namibia is 92% desert, and is an amazingly gorgeous place. Also, it's a massive country with only 2 million people living there so you get such a sense of space while your there if you get me. During that time I had a couple of holidays. I travelled throughout the country, and down to South Africa and then across to Swaziland, all of which have totally different terrains. I had a great time, and then later in the year holidayed in Zambia and saw the Victoria Falls and plenty more. Now I'm living back in England and have just recently come back from hitch Hiking through France, Spain and then Morocco. I met so many different people and cultures in all these places. Travelling really is priceless. [bojangles88]

But I live in Vegas where is stays pretty nice all year round oh yeah it dos freeze in the winter but dont stay reall cold long and we have the casinos and gtet alot of free concerts to go too just alot to do out here [Lakota12]

Yes, traveling can be a great adventure, meeting the local people, watching the native wildlife and seeing different landscapes. One of my best trips was to New Zealand and I stopped off in French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Samoa. There I saw penguins and dolphins. I walked the amazing Abel Tasman walkaway. Another great trip I did was to Central America, where I saw sharks, sting rays and crocodiles. I climbed Mayan ruins, went caving and did much snorkeling. I have been to Israel and been to the holy city of Jerusalem, a melting put of three different religions. They also feature amazing stained glass treatment in all of the churches and temples. I liked going over to Petra the rose red ancient city in Jordan. I have been on a safari in Kenya to see wild animals and I have met the Masai Mara tribe. I saw gorgeous sandy white beaches with gently waving palm trees in the Seychelles. I have traveled through Europe and been around the world. I love to travel and hope you will be able to go off traveling soon. [maximax8]

I am a native Texan and spent most of my time here where I was born and raised, in Corpus Christi. I also am bored of my city but so many people come here for vacation and/or spring break. The people who come mostly come for the sandy beach, Padre Island. Me? Not into the sand and salt water any longer. Travels have not been extensive with me. At one time I worked with my brother and sister in law making crafts and scrapbooking supply. They had a huge motor home, pulled a big trailer behind it with the Crafts and a jeep in it. I did not want pay to help them make the crafts as it was good therapy for me since I had just come off of chemo therapy and our mother had also just passed, so they invited me to travel with them to craft shows. So thanks to them I have been to shows in Oklahoma, Lousiana, Arkansas and also got to go to several here in Texas. They also took me to Branson, Missouri during shows. That was so nice of them to take me with them and very nice of my husband to not mind that I went. Also when my children were young we took a vacation through Texas and saw places we never would have if not for that since Texas is such a large state. My travels are nothing for others to read about but they were very exciting for me. I would love to be able to go back to Missouri, the trip there was so beautiful and I loved Missouri also. [tyc415]

I'm in Birmingham in the UK. It is the 2nd city of the UK and full of wonderful shops, Entertainment venues, parks and green spaces, and has a great vibe. The whole city is going through a period of change now, with some amazing new buildings going up and business is doing well in the city centre. We have some brilliant shopping areas, the Bull Ring being one of the best in Europe. Being in the Midlands we have great transport links with the major motorways and rail Networks too, and you can reach almost anywhere in the country from Birmingham in only a few hours. I live in the suburbs, a 10 minute drive takes me into the city centre, and if I drive for 10 minutes in the opposite direction I am in the heart of the English countryside. Close to Stratford upon Avon and the Cotswolds, it's a great place to live. [recycledgoth]

I have been to Arizona four times....Florida twice....Hawaii once....the Bahama's once...las vegas once....The Netherland, Belgium and Germany once....and various other places that my kids are stationed! Plus a few minor trips like The dells.....Nashville.....St. Louis....etc. LOL...where ever my kids go I go too....and being in Minnesota is not a bad thing. Every time I fly back into the cities I start to cry! It's such a beautiful place to live! [jillhill]

In my younger years, I did quite a bit of travelling. I'm glad I took the opportunity to do so then, as I didn't marry until age 38, and once my daughter was born, no more travelling (far) for me. I did take one trip to Orlando Florida, with my daughter, when she was almost 3, and she's 16 now. Aside from that, I've been to California (I love San Francisco), Anaheim (Disneyland), Yosemite national park, Nevada (Las Vegas). Also, Virginia, Hawaii (all 4 islands are amazing), 'our' Canadian West (the Rockies are beautiful), have sailed through the Inside Passage. Visited England (London and Cornwall), and also Scotland. One of my favourite trips was a Caribbean cruise. We sailed from Montego Bay, Jamaica, and had ports of call at Aruba, Grand Cayman, Colombia, and the Panama Canal. Life onboard ship was wonderful, and I've never ever been so pampered since. For me, a cruise is the way to go. I've also had multiple trips to Florida, and of course Disney World. These days, 'my wings have been clipped,' due to lack of funds, and Health constraints, but I do still long to hit the open road, if even on a good old-fashioned road trip. I love to be near water, as I find just being around it relaxing. I do hope you're able to realize your dream of travel, in the coming years. [someonesmom]
That's really interesting. We'll have to 'talk' about which destinations we have in common, one day. I'd love to go back to Scotland, and now more than ever, as I have a couple of very good friends there, that I've met online. This coming from someone who no longer enjoys flying, not to mention my other obstacles. lol [someonesmom]
Well I live in Florida. I recently go to take a mini-vacation over to Orlando where we went to Universal Studios. It was great even if it was only for a weekend. Thankfully since we went off season it wasn't too crowded. We had a lot of fun going to the theme park and getting away from the family and the house. My niece went on a lot of the rides and we had our picture taken with a bunch of different characters. We ate at Bubba Gumps (think of Forrest Gump) and the food was fantastic. It was pricey but worth it that's for sure. I would love to go back for just the food. lol [emeraldisle]
Oh they have a lot more there then seafood. I had the steak and it was great. I mean the meat was tender and juicy...makes me hungry just thinking about it. We also went there for lunch and the burger was huge. I couldn't eat it all. Outside of it they had a bench were you could sit and it had his case and the box of chocolates there so you could take a picture. [emeraldisle]
Well I was born in Garden Grove California, but heck don't remember much of it as my parents got divorced when I was a year and a half old, so me and my mother headed to home base, which for her was in Jackson Heights NY...then we moved to the Elmhurst area of NY...not much of a move...LOL-- so been here all my life...did go to a trip to visit relatives in Mexico...my grandfather's family was part Spanish and Mexican..but heck don't remember much of that as I was only six at the time. then my mother had us (my grandmother, mother and me) go to Montauk Point a lot out at the tip of Long Island...then she had a fixation for the Lancaster area of PA...yeesh don't ask how many years we were doing that so it got Soooooo boring...not that PA is boring but the same exact place year after year after year? I finally convinced her to go to DisneyWorld...this was when it first opened in the mid 1970s-----we kept going there year after year and I did love the Polynesian Resort..felt like you were in a bit of Hawaii or something..after 1978 I didn't travel at all anymore as that was when I started getting my panic disorder with agoraphobia crap..and weird that I did as I was the ONLY one who preferred and loved flying to Florida while my mother and grandmother who hated flying went by amtrak train...so go figure. I am working in Suzhou of China which was described as "in heaven we have paradise, on earth we have Suzhou and Hangzhou"by a famous poet in Song dynasty and now has going through tremendious changes with modern buildings and multi-national companies set up. We are all a bit boring of the places we have lived for ages and long to travel to see the outside. I did not take so much trips although id like to due to my tight work with presentation equipment. i have even been to Forbidden City, Tian An'men Square and Great Wall in Beijing, Beihai in Guangxi province where i saw the dolphins...my trip to Moutain Huang was the best of my trips. i wish you could take more trips to the world in the future if you get any chances and i think it will be good for you. So far I have been to Hawaii, Bali, Thailand, Hong Kong and China. Bali would have to be my favourite place out of the current list - great food, friendly locals and brillant shopping, and absolutly fantastic beaches. The locals take great pride in the area, as they know that their economy relies on tourists, so everything is kept really pristine. In the next two years, I'm hoping to add Egypt, Rome, Italy and Spain to my list of places I've visited. [kriszelunka]

Hello minnie, from where I am, it's very tropical and certainly a hot and humid country. It is none other than Singapore, a small island but filled with a lot of population of different races and ethnic groups. If you ever come here, (you have to), you will be amazed at how clean this country is. There is a fine penalty for anyone littering almost anywhere and everywhere and that is for the need to prioritize cleanliness since our country is very small and would definitely look dirty to tourists as a first glance if not taken care of properly. Plus at home, everyone uses organic green cleaning supplies to keep everything nice. [zed_k4]

I'm living in Western NY and its ok..I'm from Southern Ontario Canada and have been to numerous places there but the best being Toronto, Niagara Falls (my stomping grounds), "cottage country" (Fenelon, Bobcaygen etc) and Elora Gorge which is where I went Camping a few yrs back and loved it....I've also been to Texas, Florida, California (LOVE IT), PA, MA, Ohio, St.Lucia and Jamacia....Obviously St.Lucia and Jamaica are wonderful places to visit...Been to Jamaica a few times and would love to go back to St.Lucia..California was fun too..lots to do and see...PA and Ohio are states that we have family in so of course I enjoy going there...Florida was alright..that was long ago though..MA was alright too especially going to Salem... I live in Texas, lived here all my life also. The only place that i have been was to Hawaii. It is so beautiful there, i stayed in Maui for a week. I would love to go back or even live there! but i know that will never happen for me. [jamie08]

I would like to travel more than I am able and would love to see the 50 states but am not sure that it will happen. I went to Myrtle Beach with my family several years ago. There were over 30 of us who rented 3 condos in the same building only a block from the ocean and it was fantastic. I was able to take 3 of my children and my granddaughter........my son chose to stay at home. We went as a family after my mother passed away and thought that it would be a wonderful thing to do with part of the money that she had left to us and it was well worth it. I have 5 siblings and the 6 of us had a marvelous time with our children and were able to spend time together and enjoy the ocean and warm weather. I also went to Washington, DC many years ago and thought that the sights there were wonderful. I'm not sure that I would be so awed as an adult, although I really wasn't a child, but a young adult when I went. [idowrite72]

I've been to Canada and the mountain states. My wife is a travel nurse so we go everywhere. Our goal is to hit as many states as possible before our kids get older. We'll probably settle down for them to start college and then we're off to travel again. [gitfiddleplayer]

During my first marriage I went out on the big truck with hubby once. We went to twenty-six states in twenty one days, some of them twice. I was fortunate to have friends who would keep my kids. I do not really count that as going anywhere as there was never time to look around. In the early part of my first marriage we lived in San Diego area, and also visited the Grand Canyon. In my second marriage we have done more vacationing, and are much more in debt. We have been to San Diego, as a trip for my kids before they left home, and to the Giant Meteor Crater in Arizona, and the Grand Canyon. We drove with my son and a family friend to the Four Corners area of New Mexico for a wedding. It was a thirty six hour trip. On our way through Colorado it looked as if the Elk would jump from the side of the road into our car. On our honey moon we went to San Antonio. We frequently visit Oklahoma City. We have done the business prospect thing,where you meet and here a sales pitch at a motel dinner and gone to Topeka, our state capitol,to do it, and saw the capitol building. I have been to the birthplace of John Glen, the St. Louis Arch, a chestnut roast in Columbia, Missouri. I have been to New Hampshire, Vermont, New York. I have been to Rhode Island.I have been as far north as the very northern part of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. South to Tijuana, Mexico. I have been to the Seattle area and beyond a ways, with seven teenagers. One of my jobs sent me as a presenter to Toronto, Canada to the National Association of Early Childhood Educators. I guess I have gotten to go a lot of places, as i have gotten older. Wherever you go, enjoy your life. [GardenGerty]

I am from the Philippines and have gone travelling some part of my life.i lived in Bulacan where good food is a norm and people are known for heroism.We had Barasoain church where our first constitution was written.Biaknabato cave was where Emilio aguinaldo and other soldiers hid from their enemies during American regime. The cave now is a part of a park.I had first year college in Cebu where Magellan was killed by Lapulapu when he tried to colonize the Philippines.Cebu is now known to be the queen city of southern philippines.It has good beaches, falls, and hotels.I love shopping handicrafts there.I had med school in Cavite where the shrine where Emilio Aguinald0 used to live is found.It also has the beautiful tagaytay city where the breathtaking view of taal volcano is found.You will enjoy the fruits being sold and the horseback riding [asawanialvin0611]

I have been very fortunate over the years to have traveled extensively. I have been to most of the major US cities, such as; Chicago New York San Francisco San Diego Sacramento Los Angeles Seattle Denver Boulder Colorado Springs Dallas Houston Atlanta Raleigh Boise Portland St. Louis Kansas City Memphis Las Vegas Miami Orlando Tampa Detroit Grand Rapids Baltimore Bethesda Richmond Washington DC I have also traveled to many of the smaller states as well. There is only one major US city that I have not been to that I really want to visit, and that is Boston. I hope to visit there in the near future. Oh, and I'd also like to visit Charleston, SC someday, too. In addition, I have been to Canada (BC but hope to visit Ontario sometime in the near future), Mexico, England, Wales, Belgium, Holland, and France. I'm in the same boat as you, only I'm in northeastern Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here...only lived outside this county for one whole year of my life and even then we could see the border sign from our yard. The places that fasinate me are where the land is so flat you can see for miles and miles. Around here it's all hills...it's referred to as "The Endless Mountains". There are places where you can look across the horizon and count 7 or more ridgelines, one after another after another until the hazy sky hides whatever comes next. [foxyfire33]
I have lived all ove the US. My dad was in Construction and we moved alot and since Ive been grown up I have continued traveling. The longest I have lived anywhere was Portland, OR. It was cold and wet and rainy but I raised three wonderful boys there. They still live there and love it. ME?? I hated it!!. I have lived in Arizona where I was born, (its great if you like HOT!!! lol I am now in Georgia. I can handle this weather much better. it is nice in the spring summer and fall and not too bad in the winter. [mssnow]

i've never been outside my country but i always have time to travel domestically or around the country. most of the places i visit are beaches, historical landmarks, and places that extreme Sports are practiced *rapelling, hiking, etc. [banunche]
I am now living in Calgary, Alberta and it is the most beautiful city and province I have seen. I used to live in Winnipeg, Manitoba and I have travelled quite a bit in my day. I have been all over the United States, including Minnesota and I think the city I loved the most in the states in Las Vegas, Not for the gambling but for the night life, It is so exciting there. I have been all across Canada too, except real east, and the best place for me is Alberta. There is so much to do here, including the Calgary Stampede, which starts next week. It is on from July 4 to July 13 and there is so much to see and do that I have to go at least 3 times so I don't miss anything. Also there is really good Fishing here, about an hour or two from the city. We are going fishing today, as soon as my daughter gets home. Also we go to the Rocky mountians a lot, since it is so beautiful there. We may go for a ride tomorrow, it is only about an hour from Calgary to Banff and we do that often, just go for the drive and see all of the beautiful sites including the wild animals we see driving down the highway, us driving, not the animals.happy [chrislotz]
Well I guess I am what you would call a seasoned traveller of sorts! I am currently in Cairo and have been for about nine months. Before this I lived and worked in Mumbai, India for a year; and before that I lived in Manila, Philippines for around a year and a half. Before Manila, I was doing business a lot in Hong Kong and Singapore and also spent some time in Vietnam (briefly). I am Australian and a British citizen; have spent most of my life in Australia; and was born in Hong Kong! (Father is Australian and Mother is English). And now the way things are going today in about three months time I will be relocating to the USA. Where is my home? Wherever my partner is! I am so used to relocation now I tend to settle in just about anywhere! And as for the best of my travels? I love anywhere there is water; preferably a beach! But I did enjoy living in the Philippines. [James72]
